After a bad experience with this, what can you eat that will retain the lining of your stomach before/after a night out? I ask because after a day or two of drinking I completely lose my appetite.

Milk seems to work (not tryed before going out) and pepto-bismol acts as an artificial lining should you need it. Anything else?

you shouldn't rely on an articifical lining for your stomach you could end up doing more damage to your stomach than you realise. All I can say is eat before you go out and when you get home make toast or something - and don't get that pissed that you don't know where the bread is kept

Take milk thistle before you go out, drink water and eat a snack when you get home, take another milk thistle and some panadol and you'll be fine.

It's actually a myth that eating food sobers you up any quicker.

Once you've drunk it, that's it, it's in your bloodstream, no amount of food is going to change that.

A lot of people think that because stuff like bread is absorbent that it soaks up the booze in the stomach and causes you to somehow sober up quicker, but it's simply untrue, physiologically speaking. The only difference it makes is psychological.

I only suggested toast as it is quite easy to make in a quite intoxicated state lol

Getting sober isn't really my priority - its saving my stomach

I'm not sure what you mean by milk thistle.

Milk thistle helps your liver..but not your stomach as far as I know. I think the basic thing is to drink less. And make sure you've had a decent meal before going out. I dont think it matters what, just a healthy relatively balanced meal.

Thick banana milkshake is perfect. Lines your stomach and the banana helps to slow the alcohol getting into your bloodstream - more enjoyable night.
