A Storage Heater consists of a concrete block of mass 45 kg and specific heat capacity of 800 J/kg/K. It is warmed up overnight,from 10 degrees C to 70 degrees C, when electricity is cheaper. How much will it cost, in pence, to heat it up if one unit (KWh) costs 10p?
Can someone explain how to do it? Thanks

Q=mCΔTQ=mC \Delta T

How much energy is needed? How much power is needed? How much does it cost for a said amount of this power?

I got Q to be 2160000 but dont know what to do after that
Sorry should of been clearer when asking

Ok, well you should know that the unit kWh represents providing 1000J per second, for one hour.

If you are able to receive 1000J per second, how many seconds would you need to achieve your required Q?

With those number of seconds, convert that into the number of hours.

Now, relate that to how much a kWh costs.
