Formal Wear??

I've been thinking about this for a while and haven't got past that stage, so I've decided to ask on here.

What is the likelihood of me needing a suit within the first month of Uni?

I know the law dept is getting together but is that quite informal?

oh the reason I say within the first month is because i'll be going back home within that time so could bring it to Uni later.

i dont quite know. nobody i have spoken to have mentioned taking one, nobody on here has suggested one. maybe i have been oblivious to the fact that we may have a freshers ball? (i dont think we do?!) and as for the 'wine and cheese evening' i dont think people are dressing up ridiculously smart for that, for those that are going its more of a social event than a formal affair...

i dont own a suit, i wont be taking a suit, i havent been told to take one by anybody, nobody has mentioned it, so thats my take on the topic at hand, maybe other people have heard differently?!

Only for the May Ball I think. Some departments do graduation meals as well (where all years are invited and you get to see the lecturers take the piss out of each other :p:
