Just got my Autism Diagnosis

So I'm 17, 18 in December, I'm an alternative/goth girl and I live in Whitby, North Yorkshire. I have just started my A2 year, and have received a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome. I fine it really hard to communicate socially, and my concentration is shot. :frown: Does anybody in a similar position have any advice on how to improve communication and concentration, and also general learning strategy? Anything is welcome! :angelwings:

I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was 3. My mum didn't notice anything different until I was put with a bunch of kids my age in kindergarten. I could read and write at that time, but when someone called my name, I would not respond. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder - some areas develop quickly, yet social skills, more or less are lacking. I honestly had a hard time in primary and middle schools, had very few friends. But now, I feel like the social skills which I was not born with have developed. Sure, I'm still a nerdy introvert, but one who understands a joke, sarcasm and *gasp* socializes. I am not sure how you can develop those skills, it gets better with age for most aspies. Most schools are very helpful when it comes to autism and its spectrum, just talk to someone. If you have any questions, ask?
I'm Autistic and what im about to say is very honest so don't take offence

Life is over for us autistics. Don't just bother at all with life, everybody sees us as *******s. I now have depression which is slowly becoming worst than my autism. Idk whether how your aspergers work in those terms but really just don't bother because we autistics can't do anything right anyway (or maybe its just me :frown:)

I am so depressed with this disorder since January 2005 (I'm 19) and it's reaching breaking point. I hope your ok with your diagnosis, if not i wouldn't blame you as it's horrible to live with
OP I'm here if you want to pm someone for questions about how I've dealt with my differences with people while having AS, Adhd, add and a ton of other things "wrong" with me. Basically AMA about how I've done things or how I would with my (non existent) coping strategy
This can mean in socialising out work like college or many other things
