I try not to care what others think and am successful for the most part, but its not like people are choosing to be embarrsed its just a natural emotion really, which is often hard to overcome once in the midst of it.

I'd disagree. I forced myself to confront situations which made me think 'what would people say' and now I do it without thinking. It's a much nicer way to live.

Will do, don't think it's newsworthy though. Unless it's a slow month, in which case "Jew is circumcised!!!! Pics inside" will make front page of the Mirror.

Oh no, streak the news. Get into the studio and fling your wang around.

Why do people worry that their friends will judge them for doing stupid things?

Because, too often, they do. The issue here is that few people have any real friendships.

i dont see why people get embarrassed after doing something. whats done is done u can be embarrassed all u want but it wont make it go away.

It stops you doing really stupid things? It's a punishment tool that evolution built in to us. It lets society punish us for things that are not beneficial to it. Being naked isn't embarrassing to a child because they haven't been conditioned yet. It's something we do to ourselves which allows us to build a complex society, based on punishment and reward.
Pretty damn useful.

^ Very true.

It's also God's way of punishing people with small cocks.

Being naked isn't embarrassing for a child because they haven't been sexualised yet. In society's view of children, and in their own, they are non-sexual beings. Which is my point. Why should people force the nudity-sex link onto situations when there isn't any reason to be ashamed of it. I have friends who all slept in jeans and shirts after a house party, whilst I stripped down to my boxers to be comfortable. They bitched about me being 'practically naked' for half an hour and forced me to move beds to be further away from them.

I'm not embarassed being naked. I quite enjoy it.

jd27, you're friends are homos, that or you're about 14 and probably use the word "gay" too often.

Embarrassment is like pride, it relates to how you see yourself and how you want to be seen.
We're brought up in a society that has morals and general rules of conduct (like not being nude in public).
The environment you're brought up in is an important factor no doubt.

I think you'll find that society de-sexualises children, rather than the other way round. In a study to find out what unborn babies do in utero, one female foetus was reported to have been observed masturbating for half an hour.
Oh, and your friends are morons. Who the hell wants to sleep in jeans and a shirt, apart from anything they're full of rivets and thick seams? Wait till they have to share a room at uni and then freak out when their roomie goes to bed.

In evolutionary terms embarrasment is probably a function that will stop us doing things that may limit our chances of attracting a mate. Although what is and what isn't embarrasing seems to be entirely based on our society.
