hey... i was admitted to a university (abroad) but due to a variety of complex reasons (that rose just few days ago) i'm not able to go there anymore.
it's financial, or better, family problems, that complicated the issue.
but i feel a bit ashamed because until a few days ago i was sure about going there, and i was speaking with the admission secretaries who were very kind and really helped me out all the time etc.
i would like to write or phone them and apologyze since i really want to keep in touch with that uni maybe for the future...
i would prefer not to tell them too many details on this sudden change of decision (i cannot specify my problems)...
but still i don't want them to feel as if I'm letting them down i really intended to go there until a few days ago...
Can you not explain the problems to the secretaries?
If you can't, then I suggest you more or less just repeat this thread to them and say to them what you said here. I'm sure they'll be understanding, and I really doubt they'll consider it a personal insult that you've had factors arise in your life preventing you from going to their uni.
Just say that: You would like to let them know that, due to certain unforeseen family circumstances you are not able to come to their uni. Sign off with, you are much obliged for all the help they offered you, and are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
