wierd calf pain

howdy

every once ina while i get a very strange calf pain. it feels like a twinge in my calf; like something's twisted.
it doesnt happen often, and only when i do something to cause it - eg walking wont do it but running might. i can probably cause it myself; like you know, when you flex the calf, well sometimes i can 'overflex' it and thats when it twinges.

anyway i dont know what it is or how bad it is. could anyone suggest some ideas how to fix it - maybe some stretches or something?

thanks!

yeah i always get somthing like that after football. i usually do some groin stretches and the rest, and then if that still does'nt work try putting some deep heat stuff on it. you know the spray that forces blood vessles to that area of the body. that usually works

Sounds like cramp or something. For cramp when you get it just bend your foot back and forth, or if you want it pain free then just stretch your leg with your foot aimed up as far as it will go and hold it for a minute or two and then the cramp will be gone when you relax it. (If you get me =/)

First of all you must find out when it occurres.
Then be specific about where in the calf it occurres and during what movements. (You have mentioned one movement already). Is it in both calves or only in one? Does tend to come after having sat for a long time or when wearing specific shoes......?
Once you have watched out for a pattern you might find out what is bringing it on.
