LEAP Language Courses

Hi.

Is anyone doing LEAP Language Courses that take 20 credits?
If so, which language?

I'm doing Beginner's Mandarin Chinese (Group 2) - see you there if you're doing it!

Advanced Science French. I contemplated Beginner's German as well, but didn't think I'd have the time.

lol is that you Bethy? I see you've changed your name.

You must have seen millions of notices in the Humanities Lime Grove?? There's notices everywhere! It's basically an optional module you can take that takes up 20 credits. I have a feeling you might not be able to do it because the language side of things disallow you to do that. (My French side which is half of this year, is obviously 60 credits (half of the 120 for the full year) and the optional modules for French say "you must choose modules within the field of French", whereas my Linguistics optional modules allow me to choose one of these LEAP courses, as well as other modules from within Linguistics or even English Language)

So basically, for my French optional modules, I chose two modules from French (10 credits each) and for my Linguistics optional modules, I chose this LEAP course (which is 20 credits).

Now for you, I don't think your German side will allow you to choose a LEAP course (just like my French), but I don't know about your Russian half..

Another thing - you can still do one if it fits your timetable, but you have to pay summat like £200 for it.. (since you haven't got the 20 credits available)

I was contemplating Arabic, but I thought I'd carry on teaching myself that like I have done since the Summer hehe :p:

Mine won't work at all, it doesn't return any "class sections" for my course. Did you get the email from Andres about the fact people are having problems?

Haha ye, Andres. That cool Spanish dude  Ye I got that email. I actually went to the Simon building to ask them why it isn't coming up, and they said not to worry. "Just attend classes as normal"

The funny thing about mine is, when I go on "ULAC Chinese", only Intermediate and Further Mandarin Chinese come up - there's no beginner's

I'm doing Russian. Have had fck all help with it though, people at the language centre (naming no names incase they read it this forum) were really unhelpful and one was actually quite rude. I have my first lecture today, except I haven't been told which of the 2 groups I'm in! Bit of a mess really! :damnmate:
i have done mine online but going to double cheack in the language centre to see if it has gone through lol, i am doing beginner's japanese
