1.I think it is easy to stray from the question. The main thing you need to remember is that ethics is a persona thing and difficult to dictate- however there are common principles and statutes (such as the data protection act) that protect the right.
You might also like to look at the IT objectives [benefits] (treating patients quicker etc...) and see if they can be governed by some sort of ethical code.
    2. There are many different types of ethical approaches- e.g Utilitarianism etc... (Or in plain English: means to an end, as long as the method is right who cares of the end result etc i.e dont share the information coz it is the right thing-the company will be forced to find another way.../ if they are going to go to a diff doc who mught say yes, what is the harm)
    3. There are poo loads of websites that could help you stay on topic-
    e.g http://www.ccsr.cse.dmu.ac.uk/resour...l/Ecv8no2.html
    http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/ethics_it
    http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?i...CM&coll=portal

Hope this helps - If not ignore me!
Or if you can tell me what level this is I might be able to help further. (I am reading this subject at masters level!)
