The Student Room Group

This was an early study into conformity (majority influence) - one of a few (including Sheriff's study) which influenced and inspired Asch (1950s) to undertake his research into conformity in unambiguous situations (the lines experiment).

Jenness had participants individually estimate the number of beans in a jar, and then do the same as a group. He found that when the task was carried out in a social group, the paricipants would report estimates of roughly the same value (even though they had previously reported quite different estimates as individuals). The study was successful in showing majority influence, thus proving that individuals' behaviour and beliefs tend to lean toward a group mean.

Straight forward enough really. Google should have results on the study if you want to further investigate, as should all AS textbooks (which I expect your school will issue to you).
