Anti-dandruff shampoos?

I've heard the Head & Shoulders one is good, but dandruff isn't a problem I've ever really suffered from.

Mint shampoo!

head and sohulders eradicates the problem for me.

Head + Shoulders Anti-Dandruff does work...but you have to use it ATLEAST once a day for it to tackle it...also a brand called Timotei do a really good anti-dandruff shampool, pity I can't find it anymore!

Avoid greasy foods and drink plenty of water as well.

Guess it depends how stubborn your dandruff is....if I had a day where I missed using it I could tell...my dandruff would start to come back...

I would SERIOUSLY recommend Oilatum shampoo. Its about £5 but works! Head and Shoulders is crap, tbh.

sorry I meant "£5"

I've been told by my doctors that Head & Shoulders is basically an acid, that gets rid of the 'top layer of skin' so to speak so will get rid of dandruff, constant use though will actually harm your scalp in the long run!... But that could just be my doctor... he likes to 'claim' things... lol!!

Anyway i'd recommend T-gel and/or Selsun  Both smell mank but work!

The only thing that's going to work for severe dandruff is Nizoral (Ketoconazole 2%).

Reply 15

Go see your doctor? I have skin allergies so some shampoos bring me up in a rash; better to get professional advice when you're dealing with your skin.
It might be something you grow out of anyway.

As someone already has said Nizoral is the best it really works, i had dandruff and was using head and shoulders daily it didnt always work and was a rip off. Nizoral can be bought at a chemists, it comes in quite a small bottle but you use smaller amounts and less frequently. Start of using it every day then after a week every two days then every week and then every fortnight. This stuff seriously works dont waste time with head and shoulders.

Selenium Sulphide is the best active compound to get rid of dandruff according to the NHS website. I had a terribly itchy head with dandruff so I tottled off to the chemist and got some "Selsun". It stinks (because of the sulphur) but you only use it infrequently and it stopped my itchiness and cleared the dandruff. Fantabulous!
