The polo I want to get is black but has some small faded areas on places like the bumper. What should I do to rectify this? Should I apply the paint from a typical matte black spray can? like this http://www.carpaint.co.uk/9-500ml-ma...k-aerosol.html

Oh good lord no. Don't start painting stuff unless you know what you're doing, it'll only look way worse otherwise - especially if you want a paint a glossy or metallic black car with matte paint! You need to put up some pictures of the areas really - it's unusual for black paint to 'fade'. It may just need a good polish.

That just looks like camera reflection to me. Have you actually seen it?

Ah ok, I personally wouldn't even attempt to try and do it,there are mobile paint repair services such as these guys that will do it http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/services/...ork-scratches/ but no idea how much they’d charge tbh. Maybe see if the dealer can knock some money off to cover the repair cost?

Yeah I was gonna ask him for a reduced price, but contemplating if I should look elsewhere, but I don't think I will find a car thats conveniently as close as this one

If we're talking about black plastics, gently wave a blowlamp at it.
Too long and it'll melt.

If its metal, then use polish and put some effort in to it...
