hey,

haven't done an a level by distance learning, but have done other things.

Try to visit reputable sites (.ac.uk) ones and get info on the college's reputability.

Failing that you can always search for the course you want to do on google and see if you can find some evidence of if it compares well to others. You never know you may find a better one!
With distance learning you can get the course from anywhere in the UK, but always look at their reputation.

I think their materials are from another site? Or another site uses their materials.

I know Uk-open-learning.com use Oxford Open Learning courses.
I've done 2 courses with the NEC, one was an AS Level and now I'm doing a GCSE, both were/are very good.

I'm using two distance learning courses for A levels at the moment. One is from ICS and the other from Oxford College (which appears to have been produced by the NEC by the way). I much prefer the Oxford College one to the ICS one. It has a greater emphasis on activities and forces you to think about the subject. The ICS course (for Law at least) is essentially just lots of text that you are expected to read. With a tutor marked assignment at the end of every unit.
