AS Biology OCR planning exercise Watch

hi i'm doing the OCR AS Biology planning exercise.
We have to investigate the relationship between cell size and the rate of diffusion, using agar blocks, i know what to do for most of it, but i have a couple of questions that urgently need answering please:

1) We are given 2M HCl, but is this conc. alright to use in this expt., or should i dilute it- but to what conc.? Also is 2M HCl a "safe" conc. to use?
2) The agar blocks are made out of sodium carbonate, should i look up sodium carbonate when doing the risk assessment?

You should do a pilot experiement with trials of different concs of the HCl.

2M is pretty strong in school standards, but it depends on the experiment.

And as for the risk assessment, just say things about toxicity etc
