You could get a helium balloon and suc...oh wait sorry

Listen to some death metal, learn the death metal growl and then you can train your voice to go deeper...will sound rather crap tho, like your continuously constipated but hey you have a deeper voice!

Or you could just wait/be happy with you got.

That could work actually. But if it doesn't, at least he'll have developed a good taste in music.

I'm glad you like them! Which songs have you heard so far?

If you are seriously discomforted by it, it's possible to have an operation to do something to your vocal chords (the same thing female-to-male transexuals get to make their voices deeper). However I would wait till you're sure it's not going to go deeper ever before taking such a drastic step!

hmmmm.....see where this thread is going...tell me some good death metal bands!

On a more serious note, it isn't destroying myself confidence, but does make me shy a lil bit...i still go out and enjoy myself...but I mean it would be great if i could get this fixed(though it looks i may jus wait)...guess no ones perfect.

I'm not going to do surgery, it isn't that bad(maybe i was exaggerating a bit, but it is too high for my(and others) liking, but i mean that is out of the questions...cheers for the suggestion though

Wouldn't worry. Mine was higher than most girls voices. Now its deepr than that guy who does the movie talk over.

The ones you recommended, "Deliverence" "Bleak" "Drapery Falls" "Blackwater Park"

I am going to go and buy their album tomorrow, just downloading some Dream Theatre as we speak!

Opeth, At The Gates, In Flames (early stuff e.g. The Jester Race), Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, Necrophagist, Carcass, Diablo, Decapitated... that's all I can think of right now...

I had a friend whose voice never really did deepen muchly. It didn't affect him.

A slightly more jokey answer - try shouting for a while. I went to Thorpe Park today and the shouting involved with going on the rides has given me a slightly sore throat although it has deepened it. Perhaps you could do an hours shouting session every morning?

I'm still three CDs short  - need to get Orchid, Morningrise and Damnation - though I have all of them downloaded anyway.
