Hello all,

For my English Language investigation I decided to do linguistic changes in the Bible from 1700-2000. My data is numerous versions of Genesis 1:1-12 ranging from those time periods. For my theories I decided that Nida's theory of formal/dynamic equivalence would be appropriate (whether the text has been translated literally for accuracy, or to convey the essence of the original text) as well as skopos theory (the assumption that all translations have an intended purpose and a target audience) however I'm having a difficult time applying these.

Does anyone have any tips for analysis and/or more suitable theories for this area?
Thanks!

Finding the research is part of your investigation I'm afraid. You will have to do it!!

You can easily type in "Language Change Theories" in google and etc!
