I had it in the first two days of uni!!!! But not surprising, since I nearly always catch stuff (although I seem to have been getting a bit better recently). It's rough, isn't it, but see if you can arrange some sort of film night or something so that you don't have to go out to socialise! You'll hopefully get over it pretty soon

Hey, don't worry about it. We have all been there, (although I do hate the phrase, 'flu'... I don't think many people get influenza during their time at uni). But as for a horrible cold, its not a great thing, especially when you have a lot of mixing with new people.

I remember that in my first year I caught 'freshers flu' too. But hey, at least your immune system will be a little stronger now you have caught it

Just drink plenty of fluids and take it easy. Get well soon!

Aye, I've got it. Nearly everyone has. I can't even talk at all anymore, either boiling or freezing all the time and throat hurts so badly that I keep not being able to breathe, which is nice. I fell asleep in every single one of my lectures today.

Still though, uni's so amazing I'm not too bothered.

Haha funny how annoying it is, I'm on the third day of my art course and I'm off sick with it now, I almost passed out in the class yesterday!

i have had a dodgy cough and been really warm for most of freshers week and i've been going to the toilet loads so looks like i got it, guessing its down to all the alcohol on the nights out though.

I was stuck in bed thursday, feeling dead. Yesterday I was ok and got some work done but today is just blah :frown: Just got up and think I want to go back to bed. :frown:

Basically you all got ill because you left the confines of your own home for the first time.

I sure as hell haven't got it.

Lucky you then
