how to i reference a website in the text

i need to reference several websites, i know how to reference the website in the reference list but i need to know how to reference it in the actual text. this is pretty urgent so can i have a quick reply please!

Depends on your referencing method.
With Oxford it was just stick a number in at end of the sentence mentioning the info, and reference in footnotes fully.

adding a number in the text instead of surname and date is the Vancouver referencing method not the Harvard.

For OP this should help it tells you how to reference each type of source:

Another word of advise be careful what kind of websites you use, you can lose marks for using inappropriate sources, for the most part you really should only be using books and articles

You need to find out what referencing method you are using, as they are different and you could lose marks for using the wrong one, even if it is done correctly.

Harvard referencing: university so far is interesting (tgwktm, 2014).

Oxford/footnotes referencing: university so far is interesting1
Then each page has footnotes explaining which reference this refers to

Vancover referencing: university so far is interesting (1)
Then reference page is in this number order

Oops, that was for a different essay.
It was Oxford I was using

Ahah it's cool, referencing can be so confusing at times there are so many different methods.
