Strange Mechanics question

we've just started mechanics, and I've found it a bit hard, and have been stuck on this question.

A stone is released from rest and falls vertically through 22.5m before hitting the ground.

1a calculate the velocity before it hits the ground
1b calculate the time between the stone being released and hitting the ground

Thanks

Draw a diagram
Choose a positive direction
Write down
u
a
s
then decide which equation you can use to find
v

yes but how do i work out acceleration form the graph, unless it's in terms of v?

What graph?

You should know what acceleration due to gravity is

V is what you want. You need v^2=u^2 +2as you should know a and you've stated s

Please do not give full solutions
Original post by Idomaths
technically it's not 'full' but why should that matter?

I struggle to see why you would not consider that to be full since it ends with v=answer

Because it is against the guidelines as posted on the front page of the forum

And that, of course, is against the website rules

Constructive? I helped the ****ing guy!

You disregarded the Forum guidelines on posting full solutions, and then became abusive when you were asked to refrain from doing this.

No you gave him the answer it doesn't help him learn.

That's debatable.

I agree that a full solution can be helpful but only after the OP has had a chance to see the error of their ways.
