No its not odd, otherwise noone would have invented BOBFOC (Body of Baywatch, Face of Crimewatch) or 'butterface' (as in, everythings good 'butterface').

Tracey Emin's got a great body... Who cares anyway! The person who falls in love with you won't care about your appearance.

Two of my favourite phrases!

Anyway, generally gorgeous women have gorgeous bodies, because they make the effort. Ugly women don't bother because they know they're never going to be a knockout, so a Mars Bar seems more appealing than a jog.

well people can generally do things about body and its much harder to do something about face so its not strange at all.
works the other way round too.
but everyone has their own opinion of whats good looking and whats not.

Good body but bad face = dog

Bad ( to an extent, eg not a whale) body but good face = acceptable, body can be changed, face can't (don't talk about plkastic surgery)

two bags ideally...one for you in case hers falls off!
To be honest with you, i'm finding this thread quite hard to understand. I'm 5ft7, size 8 and 8.5 stone, which I would consider to be a good body, if i may so myself. However, my face is not very amazing, i know I have a largish nose, and suffer from spotty patches. Maybe that's part of growing up, or maybe that makes me 'dog' ugly? I hope people don't take one look at me and think that!

Oh and Anon, this is just generally the sort of stuff really drunk guys say to each other, noone's really that cruel.
one of my mates was sleeping with a girl...and he said she would be great if he could have got away with putting a paper bag over her face!

could it be that people with good bodies have more confidence, and therefore spend more time on their facial appearance (i.e.contact lenses, makeup) and their confidence makes them have more attractive facial expressions? so people see them as more attractive even though they have the same face.

or could it be that people who are more concearned with appeaance in general will dress and take care of their body/face in a way which makes them seem overall more attractive?

i used to be rather fat. and looking back at pictures, my face wasnt that attractive (to me anyway), since i was a little girl (actually i think i stopped being attractuve whne i got fat). anyway, i got some idea about fashion and how to make myself look attractive, i lost about 20 kilos, and now i have guys coming on to me all the time. my face has changed a LOT and so has my fashion sense. and i've become quite shallow in that sense. however, i dont base my judgements of others on their appearance and i know what really matters to me in friends...

ugly people tend to try and make their bodies good to make up for their faces... surely?

Double Bagger, Bobfoc, Baycrime...the list goes on. Celebrity baycrimes include Edith Bowman and the ginge off of Girls Aloud
