I've forgotten my UCAS Apply login

Oh Nooooo!

For some reaosn when I log in my details will nt be accepted, it says I have the wrong username/password and I have tried so many times.

Also when I go to get my details I forgot my secret question :frown:

What will happen now!?

I can't log into my UCAS!

I don't remember the answer to my secret question!

I have two emails one from before when I got my username wrong and requested for info (back when I knew my secret answer) but it has not information that will help me.

What can I do to ammend this situation!?

Please help because it is starting to stress me and I really want to apply within the next few weeks, REALLY (my deadline is Oct15th!!!!)

Does this mean I have to now apply next year?

PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!

If somebody could tell me how the username system works than I think I could work it out.

My username is the initial of my first name and then my full second name. This was followed by a number but I cannot remember what.

Is it followed by year of entry, i.e. 07???

Please Somebody Help!!!

contact ucas? Im sure they could help you more than we can.

No, it's not year of entry, it's to distinguish from all the (for example) 'jbrown' people, so if you were the first jbrown, you'd be jbrown1 and so on.

You can always create another account and use that instead - did you have lots of information saved on this other account? Alternatively ask your school to see if they can help or phone UCAS. Don't know how productive this would e if you can't remember your username or your secret answer though.

Could somebody please tell me the format of the unsername.

Is it in this order:
Initial of first name
full second name
year of entry, i.e. "07"

for example:

jsmith07

the school should know your username and password. (i think)

NO.
It's initial of first name, then MAYBE initial of middle name (it is with mine, depends what you registered, just try both ways), then your surname and THEN most likely just 1.

For example John Mary Smith (let me have my simple fun :p: ) could be:
jsmith1
jmsmith1

or *possibly* (but it's unlikely)
jsmith2
jmsmith2

what happens from there?

your school can get your password, but not your username. It will be in one of the following formats(i think - there might be more- but these are the 4 formats my HoY told us about...):
(using the John Mary Smith)
jmsmith1
jmsmith1
1jmsmith
1jsmith

and you can replace hte number- but dont try too many different combinations - 2 of my friends got locked out because they forgot, and ucas just locked out anyone with a similar usename!

So your friends had to apply the next year?

no i'm guessin they were prob jsut locked out for a day or sumthin or had to ring ucas.

They rang up UCAS, they gave UCAS some information and then they got their usernames back...when you get it back do the sensible thing - and print screen it print it out and keep it in a safe place (for me my desk - I never go in there unless its for something important! - not work:p:!)

My freind forgot his details and the school knew them, so just ask who ever is in charge of the ucas stuff at your school, they might end up telling you to go to the IT dept but either way someone in your school will be able to give you it, at least that was the case with my freind.

Did you get on? That happened to my friend last year - she called them up, emphasised her scattiness and they were lovely to her. Her main problem was that she'd forgotten how she phrased her secret answer. Just give them a call - they must be used to it.

Oh, and when you get on, write your number down obviously. Or enter it into your phone.
