GCSE English Literature HELP

I have to write an essay comparing the female difficulties in Much Ado about Nothing and Emma . I have no idea how to start it. Help!
If someone could give me some A* help it would be much appreciated

I'll help by not trying to. Seeing I never did those and I got a D:biggrin:

I didn't study Emma but I did do Much Ado. I'd say really look at the character Hero - how men refer to her and how she's treated like a possession (as women were in Elizabethan society).

Try to link any points you make to context if you can. That always gains marks!

Also, the portrayal of Beatrice. She's unmarried, how do characters react to that? Also the language Benedict uses when he addresses her.

Sorry that wasn't more detailed, it has been about 2 years since I studied that so it's pretty vague in my mind.

(BTW I got A* at GCSE and currently doing A2 English Lit (got an A at AS)
