nah, it's ok.

my friend was dating her 2nd cousin for a few months when they were about 15. no harm ever came of it.

it's just social conditioning that makes you feel odd about it in my opinion.

Yes.

somewhere along the lines you have the same blood line and i think its wrong.

Reply 4

It depends if she is hot. Also, if you live in Norfolk this is generally considered the norm.

Legally? The law states that you can marry your cousin, so no probs there.
Morally? Well, that's up to you really.
Biologically, too much inbreeding can mess up your DNA, but that probably isn't something you need to be too concerned about.

I guess it depends on how you were brought up. I couldn't date any of my cousins as I was brought up with them and it would be like dating my brother.

My brother is engaged to and has a child with our 3rd cousin (I think thats right. We have the same great grandad). Some people think this is weird but why should it be. They never knew each other growing up and only realised they were related in to the relationship. Unfortunatly their little boy has a very rare genetic disorder so it shows that it can be tricky at some point.

Not if you live down south. (USA)

My grandparents are 3rd cousins or something like that and there have been no genetic problems. Its random what DNA you get from your parents so some cousins share more DNA than others. If you were planning on having children together then I'd suggest seeing a geneticist or something.

I don't see why someone would say it's morally wrong, when you're not doing any harm to anyone.

Reply 10

what if i am 17 and she is 22??

Reply 11

Not that much of an age gap...

Reply 12

That changes things. You ain't got a chance.

Reply 13

If she is a blood relative, no matter how distantly, then to me that is very wrong.

Reply 14

Legally it is not wrong but you would get an awful lot of flak off your family.

Reply 15

i cant believe what I'm reading. Very wrong in my opinion.

Reply 16

come to the Isle of Man, some people in the schools here have like 15 cousins.

Reply 17

You cant help it if you feel attracted to her, in my opinion it most probably a crush or something wich will pass in time

Reply 18

You are only attracted because you see genetic similarities, something that brothers and sisters separated at birth just "feel".

Also you are at an age when older girls are hawt

Reply 19

To have an attraction is completely natural, God knows it's happened to me -_- However, I'd never take it any further than that. I'm 100% against incest, and I'd never get involved with anyone who I had even the slightest blood relation to.
