The 2 hour lectures aren't as bad as they initially sound, depending on the lecturer, you'll either have a break part way through, or finish early. Sem 1 for P geographers in secind year is a b*****d tho (is Polar Environments still a sem 1 option, or has it moved back to sem 2?).
We found out about 2nd yr field trips before the summer holiday, but that was due to us being the first lot to go over there (NZ), and they had to book flights early to get 'em cheaper, something like that.
*checks Student Record* Polar Environments is Semester 2.
They're charging £1750 for NZ this year, apparantly they are taking a new flight which goes via Hong Kong. Also apparantly they gave back some of the money that the students paid (for NZ at least)

We didn't get any money back, and paid £1500. I think you now get more meals included than we did, as one place we stayed in did food for us each night so they muttered something about having that in the price.
We flew via LA, which was great, 30 geographers pinned to the windows of the plane as we flew over Greenland (with funny looks from the rest of the passangers). The only down side was that we had to fill in those visa waiver thingys you need for visiting the US, and had fingerprints and what not taken, all this just cos we got off the plane to wait in a room whilst they cleaned the plane. Still, got 3 stamps in the passport for 1 trip.
its in the amenity block right at the back, went in there this morning and it doesnt take too long, costs £1.60 for the washing maching and £1 for the dryer
