Light/Lamp----> Specimen---->Objective Lens----> Eyepiece Lens---> Eye

This is just the overview of the workings of the Optical microscope.

The light microscope uses light and a series of lenses to magnify an image of a sample. It easiest to google a diagram to see its workings.
