Is the American dream part of the culture? Is the American dream inevitably linked to business, is there always going to be some sort of link, pal?

It'd be difficult to live the "American dream" without much business activity. The roads aren't paved with gold in the US.

So, what exactly are you objecting to? What is this commercialized culture that so troubles you?

What are the right reasons for love and pride of one's country in your view? Who are you to question American patriotism? What do you know about it?

commecialisation that leads to globalisation. A culture that lacks sustainability, and that more countries import will not last.

Globalization is the result of producing something that people actually want. The reason that McDonald's golden arches form a vista on the horizon from New Hampshire to New Delhi is because people like the product and not because the Americans forced the opening of these places. There's no point bitching just because America knows how to run a business.

Alright? 10,000......15,000.....who cares? This war in Iraq may or not be right (I happen to think it wasn't) but the decision to go to war is a government one and just because someone doesn't agree with the government of the day doesn't mean they have to abandon pride in their country.

Almost everyone has the wrong attitude when they enter a debate.
The only correct attitude is determined and open.. you must be open to the possibility that you are wrong.. and thus far.. I haven't seen anything remarkable from you, you haven't changed my mind. People who discriminate against the american populace do so because they don't know EVERYONE, and because they fear things greater than they are.. and that's not me being snobbish.

No, MNCs don't force themselves on a country, but there isn't much a choice is there, for a developing country. And thats because of the trade systems we have going on. Cocoa, coffe, tea. I'm sure these countries could make a lot more money off these items due to the 'demand'.

I'm not sure I follow. I think you're trying to tell me that third world agriculture is such an advanced and efficient endevour that if America would just stop (interfering?) the invisible hand would ensure a flow of wealth to these countries so that they could establish their own home-grown franchises.
