Poor you?

It's just your deceiving sense of self-perception. Don't worry about this at all. I'm sure you do not look like a 'complete gooner'. The first time I saw myslef on video I cringed but it's all natural. A bit like hearing your own voice on an answering machine. You're like "do I really sound like that?" But it's ok. There is no need to be afraid.

Oh I always feel like that when I see videos of myself.I think most people do.
don't worry bout it too much... (especially if you were p*ssed) just learn from it if it worries u so much.

Don't worry - it's normal. We got videod for a presentation and we were all like do I really sound like that? I don't talk like that! and that kind of thing.

When you're watching a video it's in third person, so you won't be getting the subconscious triggers that caused you to do certain things anyway.

Nobody sounds in real life like they think they do in their head. But everyone else is used to how you actually sound so they won't think as badly of you as you do.

I have to be videoed for all my communication skills sessions. Fun.
Where you drunk when you were filmed? If so blame it on the drink (which it was).
Everyone thinks they sound/look like a spanner when they see/hear recordings of themselves. S'just the way it is.
I've been told I sound terrible when singing, so I know it's true when I hear myself.

Yeah seeing yourself on video is always very odd.

I felt like this the first time I recorded my singing. Even though people have told me I'm good when I heard myself I just thought "wtf who's that idiot in the recording?!". It's just because you never really hear yourself from and outside perspective and it's feels strange when you do. I assume it's all the same seeing yourself on video and you'll get used to it after a while if you keep watching yourself if for whatever reason you decided to do so.
yeah its weird, in the mirror i think i look semi good looking, but on video i look like an absolute DYKE! :frown: :frown: and its really gettin me down too
Oh and be thankful that it was just a video and you weren't in the audience on CDUK...clearly jumping up and down behind someone to try and get into the shot....

That is looking like a 'complete gooner'.

Exactly the same for me, except in photos. I'm like, 'WTF am I really that ugly?' I'm not sure what to trust - my eyes, or the camera... haha.

Don't trust the camera, trust your eyes.

My friends always look different in photos to how they actually look.I can be quite photogenic but that doesn't make me good looking in real life.

i think thats a good point, also i think some ppl look better on camera when they are expecting a picture taken and some not so when they are snspped casually

And I realised I looked like a complete gooner. It was nothing like how I imagine myself to be, and I couldnt believe how much of a loser I looked (just the way I act and stuff). Its really made me feel like ****.

i know what you mean, seeing or hearing yourself is never as you think it would be
