Are students already being taught the new specification of the change from A-level computing to A-level computer science?

The new one is way easier because you don't have to learn how all the hardware listed in the spec works! Sadly I started AS computing in year 10 ( last year) so I missed the change- AQA

The new WJEC AS Computer Science spec won't start until September 2015. I don't know about other boards, though.

Also not quite sure how you could say the new spec is "way" easier. Topics only at A2 are now dropping down to AS and even harder topics are being introduced. The good thing though is that most of the BS is being cut (e.g. extensive coursework documentation)

The old WJEC Spec which I do is all just simple IT such as system life cycles. It's ridiculous.

The new A-Level is most indefinitely harder.

I checked the AQA website, and it also says that the new Computer Science AS-Level spec won't be until September 2015 for them too. So if you are doing AQA now, you will be doing Computing not Computer Science.
