Who is the best applicant you have known to get rejected?

It seems to be a sideeffect of the Scottish education system - everyone becomes a timetabling geek. I've had arguments with people - tedious arguments, tedious people - about the relative merits of different subjects that have lasted for hours. And these were standard grades FFS.
