How good is this book?

It covers the content
It has examples that are clear
It has a range of questions including exam ones

It comes with a CD that has some interactive solutions


It is the text we provide students with to give practice

The series of books are a good source of problem sets, and also has some step-by-step worked solutions which are nice.
However, some of the explanations can be a bit vague, so I wouldn't choose it as the primary textbook for learning from.

out of curiosity what book is your school currently using? (I assume you are doing EDEXCEL)
I can't comment on that book despite studying both Edexcel C1 and C2 (and everything else actually, I did double maths) because my school didn't like it all that much. We used the older: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Core-Mathematics-Edexcel-LEVEL-MATHS/dp/0582842379 which was good for practice questions.

they are using Pure mathematics C1 and C2 by David Rayner and Paul Williams

your textbook is fine in terms of loads of good practice questions but no so great in examples.

the book you are asking about is "light" in context, it has more examples, better in appearance but it is expensive.
