I want to go to university there next year, so learning the language and past beginners level.
Are there any good uses for Swedish beyond school?

I would imagine knowing Swedish would make travelling to Sweden much easier.

It would be useful if you wanted to live there after your studies. It isn't the most useful of languages but it is beautiful. If you learn Swedish, you may find it easier to pick up a related language like Dutch, German, Danish or Norwegian.

It's definitely not a useless language. Swedish is my second language and I use it a lot. There are English speaking universities in Sweden, but being able to speak and understand the language will open up so many opportunities for you if you choose to work and live there in the long term. Learning the language will also make your experience in Sweden more interesting and pleasurable.

Lycka till!
