Is a Media production course in Uni the same as an A level one but more in depth? Watch

I recently decided to apply for some Media courses in Uni but my main choice is Business, i was just wondering what the similarities and difference are from doing it at A level to Uni level, i'm currently doing the WJEC course, where you do your research then write an essay on it, then produce a production using things you found in your research.
