Hands up who else thought this thread was about something else?

I think that most colleges prohibit blu-tack, although some are less strict about enforcing it than others. I blu-tacked all of my posters to the wall for four years and no one ever complained, even though it wasn't supposed to be allowed. It probably depends on the relationship that you have with your bedder - if they like you, then they won't report you for minor stuff like that.

Blue-tack is a term used for the girls who hang out in clubs trying to pull anyone who has a blue. If you have a blue in something, they're after you, if not, they aren't interested.

Go to Wednesday night Cindies once term has started and you'll understand quite quickly

As for the other kind of blu-tack, no, you're not allowed it. Either use white tack, or find out if your room has picture railes and get some hooks and slider things to hang posters from them.

lol at us innocent freshers!

We're supposed to use hook and slidery thingies? jeez... I thought people just blu-tacked the posters to the picture rail.

I guess if you leave your room tidy the bedders like you and won't report it? Hmmm...

Well, you could probably do that, but if your posters are like mine they tend to roll up if there's nothing weighting them down at the bottom.

It all depends on your bedder, whether they like you or not is down to a lot more than if you keep your room tidy! Some are nice and some are not so.

kinda catch 22 of getting in a brand new accommodation block for me is the massive bold DO NOT STICK ANYTHING TO THE WALLS. AT ALL!!! in all the letters i've got :frown: i've had to resort to things like blu-tacking all my stuff to a massive "for sale" sign which will be placed leaning against the wall on my desk, and mebbies i could stick anything else on a notice board (they're provided right?) or on doors...

But it certainly is a sticky situation.

some colleges do not even allow white-tack, as it peels the paint off the walls, rather than merely staining it.my advice is- pinboards. big ones. picture hooks to hang them from can be bought in bradwells 'chav' court (lots of discount shops there, if they're still open?!). you can then run riot with blue tack and drawing pins on the pinboards

Priya, in that case, I'll get a pinboard, pin some paper on it and draw a picture on it with blutack.

Most rooms have a notice board AFAIK, I had a huge one last year which I fitted a massive poster on.

Haven't they smashed Bradwells court down?

Generally rooms come with a large pinboard, so you can pin posters and letters and stuff onto them. Other than that, I just use sellotape even though I'm not supposed to, as my room is covered with old blu tack form last year's occupant.

Last year my room had wooden planked sloping walls as it was in the attic, so I drawing pinned all my posters up, along with seemingly most of the previous occupants as the wall was covered in pin holes.
