Anyone know where there are some free rooms I might be able to move to then? First preference would be Ricky Road but I'm open to other suggestions - I don't want to stay here all year.
im in castle leazes too, im thinking of moving out cuz i find it too loud 4me, and i have been woken up almost every night, either fire alarm/ guys coming drunk talking loud/ drunk ppl from other houses wondering around cuz they cant find their rooms. i want to go to a quieter place cuz i need to do alot of reading. i talked to hall sec, she said to look around other places and chose where to go, but ur right there are alot of ppl who want to move out so its not guaranteed.

Don't worry im sure it will quiet down a bit after freshers week. Its all a bit mad in the first weeks.
hmmmm, well its 2:20am and im up again cuz the lads got in drunk and loud again
i have had enough really, i cant stay here another night.
Whereabouts are you (hall/floor)? Shame, it's a lot quieter down where I am - and I like a lively atmosphere (providing I get to know people).
I'm assuming you're on an all-girls floor though. Sigh.
Anyway, I'm gonna go and see what the score is on Monday, re moving elsewhere. I highly doubt I'll get the chance to move elsewhere within Castle Leazes, not that I'm even sure I want to any more.

lol, no im a guy, but the floors above and below are girls. im in thornton house freemens hall. i do like the lively atmosphere too but just not when im asleep. where u staying? do u think we would be able to do room swaps? bcuz i would still like to stay catered, bcuz its gd, and moving to self catered is a fine of £200, where as catered to catered is only £25.
Mine first was St Marys and my second was Leazes Parade. It is very tough to get into the small city centre self catered blocks and Castle Leazes (which is supposedly a hell hole anyway).

Same choices here.
At St. Marys now, and it's good
Flat 34 is the place to BEEEEE
Except for earlier this evening when we set off the fire alarm. Hmmm.
Fortunately i live around the back where we do not have the same fire alarm as you, so we dont have to evacuate when you decide to burn the place down
Did you hear it??
I'm really sorry.
Anyway, it wasn't actually me. It was the five other people in our flat. I was quietly enjoying monty python on my room with "Fleff" when it went off and then I just heard the "Its 34" whispers. Then it turned out it was us. Hope we don't get fined. I doubt they'd ask me to cough up anyway, since I was no where near the kitchen at the time .
Nothing was damaged, we had a laugh today about it though while sat in the kicthen going "THIS WAS THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT, 14 MEN DIED IN THE FIRE!!" and stuff. But it really wasn't funny. Someone could have died just because everyone but me decided it was time to cook in my flat
I'm in Ricky Road, and there was a real live fire in the flat opposite us (on the day of the fire safety talks, no less!) and the whole place was full of smoke, but no alarms went off at all. And they tried telling us perfume would set them off!
