couple of queries on indices.

1/4^2 i got 1/16
how to get this to 4sqrt2

1296^1/4 = 4sqrt1296 , how to evaluate this further

(1 9/16)^3/2

Firstly

(14)242(\frac{1}{4})^2 \neq 4\sqrt2

So I have no idea what you thought there

129614=12964412961296^{\frac{1}{4}} = \sqrt[4]{1296} \neq 4\sqrt{1296}

The 4th root is the square root of the square root
Do you have a calculator for these questions?

sorry should be 4^-2

that still has no roots in the answer it is 1/16 as you said

Then you have a button that takes different roots for you

Without a calculator you would have to break down 1296 and look for square factors

I would say 1296 = 4 x 324 = 4 x 4 x 81 = 4 x 4 x 9 x 9

so 1296 = (2 x 2 x 2 x 2) x (3 x 3 x 3 x 3)

So the 4th root is 2 x 3
