difference between nodes/vertices, and between edges/arcs? Watch

Hey I'm teaching myself d1 and was wondering whether "nodes" and "vertices", and "edges" and "arcs" are interchangeable, or should they be used separately according to the question?

"Vertices are also called nodes or points, and edges are also called arcs or lines"

from graph theory

though I would always use the terminology of the question.
