Hi all,

I've previously been using my old desktop as a media server but (having left it on nonstop for the last 4 months) the PSU has broken

Its function was to hold media files and send them over the network to different TVs etc.

I need a new machine so I've been looking at these two options:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/QUIET-ULTRA-...&keywords=htpc

or building one myself:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A1KKBQ3ZKRKG5E

any thoughts on these (or other machines) would be great

We had those Dells at work. They're awful.

I'd go down the self build route, however...

This, really. If it's just running as a server, just maintain the thing. :yep:

However, if you really want something new:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-G1610T-Pr...ords=hp+server

One of those. Add a HDD, install your OS, job's a good 'un.

What was the original psu? They are quite cheap these days and good efficiency.
