It does for me. It's probaly because I'm rubbish though. My friend can play 'the scientist' by Coldplay.

I do have the sheetmusic for their 'rush of blood to the head' album though. It's nice to sightread. Anyone think Parachutes was a better album?

Yeah, I taught myself that - it's quite straightforward. I bought the sheet music for Automatic for the People, mainly because of Nightswimming Also Find the River's a good one to play, and a top notch tune that people forget. In fact, I think I'll put the album on now

I think that Jim Steinman is the best song writer ever. His best song just has to be Bat out of hell, with Total Eclipse of the Heart following a close second.

Bohemian Rhapsody is my third favourite song ever. That is pure classic amazing pop!
    Queen, pop? GAH!

Agree that Steinman is great writer, but the best ever? maybe not.

in response to the thread... either Bohemian Rhapsody, or Telegraph Road by Dire Straits (a 14-minute long epic, with a lot of excellent guitaring)

Thought of another example of a simple yet effective song. Does anybody know An Olive Grove Facing the Sea by Snow Patrol? Very, very good. Doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
