It depends how/why you broke up? If it was a messy break up or something happened that might happen again, I probably wouldn't try again but if it was just a case of drifting apart or something, it might be good to give it another go.
However, I would recommend knowing how you feel before you get into something again with him. Maybe start off as friends and see how it goes?

I'd just stay friends with him for a while, see how you feel about him and if you do like him and he likes you then go for it.
