Breakfasts?

I have so many people telling me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but there really i nothing i can eat. I look at what other people eat and there really is nothing.
I'm lactose intolerant so that rules out yoghurts and other dairy products, i don't like bread and really hate toast, i can't have milk with cereal, but I hate cereal anyway. I don't have a lot of time so can't have anything that takes cooking. I used to have fruit, but my mum and boyfriend always say i should have something carbohydrate for breakfast.
Personally myself i don't think its a problem but my boyfriend is getting annoyed with it cos my diet isn't perfect anyway and apparently not eating breakfast just makes it worse.
Does anybody have any ideas on what i could eat for breakfast that isn't bread or cereal, has no dairy in it and is quick?

Soy yoghurts! There are actually some nice ones around! And fruit is still good, it is infact carbohydrate, just probably not in the way your mum thinks. Bananas that are only just ripe (preferably still with a hint of green on them) are excellent, as are avocados.

are eggs a dairy product (yes i'm stupid)? i love boiled eggs in the morning, they really set me up for the day!

I haven't eaten breakfast for about 2 or 3 years, I'm fit and healthy.

Anyways you can still eat bacon

Greasy Bacon sarnie and Coffee with soy creamer.

Get in!

Soya milk is the most revolting thing i have ever tasted, my mum used to feed it to me when i was a baby and i tried it recently and won't touch it with a barge pole. Both eggs and bacon take cooking, time consuming. I haven't had crumpets for years, is there such thing as milk free butter?

yes, margerine

try rice milk/oat milk/almond milk

i personally love soya milk, perhaps it's time to try it again. try alpro, there are a lot of brands out there which don't taste too good but personally i love alpro

porridge made with water in the microwave?

some good healthy cereal bars out there which have starch in

and who says you ahve to eat breakfast food at breakfast? you can eat last nights leftovers, or a rice salad made the night before with nuts and chopped apple

you could try putting juice on your cereal

for starch you could eat bananas, pasta, rice or oats (soaked in apple juice)

anyway, even if you dont have starch it's important to have SOMETHING so try smoothies (made with fruit), bananas, cereal bars, nuts... crispbread (idk if u dont like this as well) - or at least juice

do u dislike all breads? have you tried english muffins or pumpernickel (it's made with rye and seeds)? pitta breads... naan bread...?

or you could try making your own healthy flapjacks with oats, bananas, peanut butter, raisins... and they'd be ready for u to grab & go in the mornings

i'm also a big fan of alpro plain soya yogurt (but i prefer sojasun, it's harder to get hold of), which is nice with fruit or cereal, or you could put it in smoothies

you can also buy lactase which breaks down lactose into galactose and glucose, to make it tolerable. i think they come in pills and you dissolve it in teh milk? apparently it makes it sweeter? idk if it will work for ur particular problem though

Rice milks looooovely.

What about something like cereal with soy yoghurt? That way, you don't have so much of the soy-ness, and you still get cereal?
Or what about, as the above poster suggested, healthy flapjacks?
Croissants? Pain au chocolats?

The croissant/pain au chocolat idea sounds good, also the flapjacks, as i've already said whether its with soemthing or not i don't like cereal anyway.

Whatever you have, stick sultanas/raisins/dried fruit, whatever you fancy, on top - healthy, low-fat energy boosters! Tons of carbs

Toast? Lol I'd suggest vegemite but that might be out of the ordinary for you lol :p:

I know 2 people on TSR who prefer it to Marmite and they live in the UK

But yeah I prefer honey hehe x x

porridge made with either soy milk or water and then topped with some kind of fruit - thats always yummy!
How about making some bannana bread on a sunday evening and then eating that every morning?
If you are going to go down the soya youghurt route, I'd reccommend Alpro Soya yoghurts.

I used to love vegemite when I lived in New Zealand but the weird thing is over there it tastes more like marmite over here than vegemite does over here! I love marmite but don't like vegemite over here- strange!

I can't believe that you don't like any kind of cereal! There are so many different types! You could maybe try having it with juice instead of having it with milk- that can be really yummy!

I think that if you want to eat breakfast you are going to have to be willing to try new things (even things that you think you won't like).

My friend.... fried rice is your answer.... just try shifting, rice and cereals everyday... you wont get bored... theres a lot of fried rice combinations too... as well as different cereals.. Those two gives good carbs... and me i prefer rice all the time rather than cereals... i think its because i got so used to it already.
