Geography at Durham

I know that Durham has a good reputation for geography and gets over 1000 applicants for the BSc and BA courses each year et blah-de-blah, so i probably won't get in...but anyway, i was wondering if anyone on here studies/is going to be studying, geography at Durham specifically because i'm really interested in the course and i'd like to find out what it's like from a students' point of view. I've heard that the facilities are first class.
Oh yeah, my other 'problem' is distance from home - i don't know if i could cope with a 8 hour journey every time i wanted to go home!

Yes an 8 hour journey is nothing! I'll be going there in October so if you're still around then I'll let you know what its like  Don't be discouraged from applying there just because there are so many applicants, I thought there'd be no way I'd be accepted but put it now just in case and here I am with an offer!
