bleeding

ok well i have changed my pill to a lower dosage because the last contraceptive pill was giving me cramps.ive been on this pill for 4 months now.i usually bleed 2/3 times during the month while taking the pill but the docor told me its just breakthrough bleeding and it shud calm down if not come back, but shes given me 6 months worth of the pill.for the past few days since i last had sex i have bled but today i had a huge bleed this morning...i mean i used 3 tampons (super plus)in a matter of 2 hours.I bled a huge amount but now it seems to have reduced again to nearly nothing.has anyone any ideas why it might have done this???thanks x

Did the bleeding start immediately after sex? Did you have any pain or anything? If yes, might be a sign of infection, you need to see a nurse/gp to see if thats the case.

If not, its probably just a coincidence. I would carry on taking the last packets of the pill to see if the bleeding clears up at all- it might just be that your body hasnt adjusted to it yet. If after finishing all the packets you are still bleeding, see your nurse/gp to get the dose altered or to try a different one.

No pain unlike when i have a proper period and no the bleeding didnt happen straight after.it started very lightly spotting the day after.its like 2 days not bleeding and 2 weeks bleeding.although thismorning was very bad

It sounds like you are still adjusting to the pill. Ive had breakthrough bleeding in the past so I know what a nuisance it can be! Take the whole 6 months worth and see what happens, if it isnt any better see your GP. They might be able to suggest a different sort of contraception for you if you are not suited to the pill (implant, patch, injection etc).

i dont know if i could b bothered waiting and having this all the time.it effects your love life!!!do you think it would be possible to go back to the doctor and ask for the injection?

I dont see why not, although I dont really know much about it, so you are better off asking your nurse for info. I think they would need to make sure that you were suited to it and didnt have any medical problems first.
