Got the flu

-Headache
-Numbness all over
-Blocked nose
-Sore throat
-Can hardly walk

Anyone know how to get rid of this bastard? I'm never ill so I'm surprised I've got it this time, maybe it's because I haven't been eating as healthily as I usually do. Can anyone recommend anything to get rid of it ASAP? In college I could barely concentrate so I want it gone by Monday and then forever onwards. Anyone also know any foods/vitamins I can take to prevent it from coming back ever? Last time I was ill (and yes it's very brief) was over a year ago.

Honey and Lemon, Strepsils, lots of water. If symptoms persist for much longer visit your GP.

Any solution to prevent it in the long run also? Like anything I could eat daily?

aww i'm sorry to hear it hun :frown:

I've got a bit of the old 'fresher's flu' going on. Mine's only sore throat, hot/freezing coldness and wheezing so not too well-developed.

I would recommend getting a flu vaccination next September as a preventative.

Its rubbish when you have the flu. I am just about recovered from freshers flu. I've had a fever (highest 38.5), sore throat, cough, blocked nose, I lost my voice, plus aches all over and an headache. It wasn't nice. It started last friday. I drank plenty of water, had lemsips, cough medicine, tissues and plenty of rest. Try and have an early night and as many naps as possible. Hope you are well soon
