This is a very interesting question to which I don't know the answer to myself . . . Sorry! Hopefully someone else will!

Better to go with a Arts at Oxford than law at Oxford Brookes. Part of the reason for this is simply that the person that went to Oxford has a much better academic record with straight A's across the board. Employers recognise that and it shows that the person who went Oxford is just more 'intelligent' than the person who went Oxford Brookes.

If you in the unlikely event see a person at Brookes with 5A's at A-level, 10A*'s at GCSE then they are on a more equal playing field to the Oxford Arts graduate.

So in that sense, it might not be the University itself that makes the Arts graduate more employable, it's the fact that Oxford itself is a representation of a persons achievements and academic ability throughout their lives.

So simply put, an Oxford Arts grad is more employable than a more 'vocational' degree at a lesser University.
