Girls at oxford

Yes, but where men are concerned at Oxford, and from the examples I saw, the pickings aren't so much slim as anorexic. Wasn't much better at Leeds! You just can't beat Manchester!

I suppose that there's always Brookes - unless they contribute in making Oxford an 'ugly city'! :frown:

The boaties aren't that much better, still ugly, very ugly in fact, but they don't have that special Oxford touch which makes you especially ugly.

They're either rowing, sleeping, eating or working though, you don't meet many of them in term time.

sssh, you're supposed to say how awful you are!! LOL.

I have a boyfriend so I wasn't looking at anyone in particular, but I noticed a couple of boys who weren't too painful to look at in my college.. only fair seeing as my boyfriend will seemingly have a whole parade of gorgeous girls to look at at Brookes!

I think Brookes would return to the top of that table if it's true that Keira Knightley (sp?) is going to be starting there next year!

Kate Beckinsale went to Oxford...and so did carol vorderman (if you think shes attractive and she is for a lady of 45+)

I know! Thankfully now the university has put introducted a stipulation that all students must pass a special appearance test at their interview, to prove that they are worthy on an Oxford offer.

The Chancellor made a statement saying that with this new measure, deserving Oxford students will never have to face such beauty again.

And strangely enough one of my friends had the exact same funny little pink chest of drawers. But I think her's was green.

I wouldn't know why. We Oxonians are ugly and proud of it! Not even Imperial College can obtain the levels of ugliness we do.

The University motto - "Oxford, ugly for over 800 years"

a boatie is the ultimate oxbridge accesory though.. (& how are you Helenia? i have slight prelim fear kicking in, though this hasn't translated to working hard yet!)

& i think some people might be slightly..

Well, I've always found female mathematicians and physicists extremely attractive. Of the Oxford variety anyway... *wink*

Well, I can think of one boatie who I wouldn't mind having as an accessory...conforms to acceptable levels of hideousness. However, the other ones I have been "fortunate" enough to encounter are not accessory-standard for me, tragically.

Am terrified of exams, start in just over 2 weeks, and I know nothing!

No more exams 4ever
Hmm, i think it depends on the course... Arts students generally seem omre attractive... Cambridge People - correct me if i'm wrong, Oxford people - pls enlighten me on life at the 'dark' (and slightly dim) side :-P .. Linguists, English, SPS, Arch & Anth, Hist of Art, Education is it just my perspective or are those subjects generally full of attractive women? Actaully that's prob. because they have higher numbers of girlies doing them anyway, although medics (that's a girlie degree too) seem to fall by the wayside... .medics are just scarey here... That said there are a lot of attractive bio nat sci girls.. but they tend to be quite shy and just a smidge geeky.

Being even more politically incorrect, I think Cambridge attracts nicer girls, But Oxford the extremely attractive ones (the ones you'd date, but would never marry/let meet your parents...)

Although that goes with what I read somewhere, Cambridge is supposedly the most romantic university (just walking down the backs - yup i'd agree) and oxford one of the least... Although apparently they have more sex than we do... But I guess it's about your priorities and how shallow you are...

(big overgeneralisations everywhere in that post, not based on anything other than flippant observations - so as not to offend the feminists out there)

Speaking as a boatie, we do not like to be seen as accesories! We're people you know!

Don't worry about Prelims, people really panic about them, but 99% of the time everything turns out fine. Even if you fail the first time, you get to re sit it, and you only have to pass to carry on too next year.

Unless your a Med. student, then its rather important.(1st part of BM?)

Anyway, you'll be fine.
