How do I get hold of my old UCAS?

Basically, I decided to discontinue with my course at uni and take a gap year and retake another course that was more to my liking.

The tutors at the university believe I can use my old reference for this next year however I don't have my old UCAS and I never read my reference, so does anyone know how I can hold of my old UCAS in order to get some vital details to put onto my new one?

Presuming you applied thorugh your school or college originally try contacting them - they usually keep a copy of everything like that in archives for 2-3 years (in case of any students complaining about dodgy refernces etc lol) so you could be in luck!

You can get your reference from UCAS under the Data Protection Act. The cost is £10 (supposedly for administration).

You need your application ID from your first UCAS application.

Then you probably need to get the school to re-sign it or something - I don't know exactly how this works.

Alternatively call up UCAS and see what they can do about transferring your old reference into the new application.

However, it sounds like there are no hard feelings at your previous university - why don't they write a reference for you?

Hey, thanks guys.

Well I had a closer relationship with my tutors at college than I did at university and I'd sleep better at night knowing they wrote my reference.

It's annoying how I have to reapply again - the first time had me tearing my hair out as it was lol

Thanks again
