Can't find a straight answer (FAT LOSS)

Im sorry if people are sick of weight loss posts, but I just want a staight forward simple answer here! If you look on the web, its just full of people trying to profit from your misery, so you get fed total bull**** about how to lose fat/muscle.

All I want to know is what will happen if I ate less and done a couple of hours cardio excercise a day. Would I loose fat? or muscle? or both? I just want to look think and skinny, I have too much fatty tissue around my hips, butocks and thighs.. and its really getting to me.

Should I focus on a protein based diet? Should I also work out my muscles?

yes to all.
although a couple of hours a die would really kill you if youve not done much before. 45 mins a day is a much nicer figure

Soldier, get of your fat lazy arse and do some exercise!

eating less can sometimes be worse as you should just eat a balance diet, the diet will help you loose fat but if you loose loads or lose it too quick you will be left with marks so a work out for 1 or 2 hours a day will help tone your muscles, doing the housework every day is a good work out, and it will make you popular with your housemates :smile:

Yes, because everyone has exactly the same build, metabolism, diet...

You're contradicting yourself, do you want to lose muscle mass or gain it? In answer to the question I've bolded, you'll probably die. Do not just jump into a routine like that.

Eat less -- the 2 words are all you need to do. maybe you could add another 3 -- do sports regularly.

You will loose fat and muscles. Yes you should work out muscles aswell. Don't worry about specific diet. Just try to eat healthy and try to improve your "diet" step by step. Generally ban all fried stuff/sweets/desserts forever.

You will begin to see changes after 2 months. And you will be content with you in maybe 2 years, depending on your size. It takes time and effort, exactly what it took to get that weight on :wink:

So why are you saying a couple of hours is bad and 45 minutes is good? For all you know, the OP might be better off with half an hour, or an hour and a half. Besides, no one should start even with 45 minutes, it should be gradually built up over a few weeks.

yes absolutly, but the op wanted to do several hours a day which i doubt anyone could do as there is little to no rest time for muscles.
and 45 minutes 3 or 4 times a day is whats generaly recomended to most average sized and fitness people who just want to lose fat.

(this is a bit off topic) i usually hate it when people point out spelling mistakes and stuff, but honestly, SO many people spell the word 'lose' wrong and it is so so so so so annoying.
loose= wrong in this respect
lose= correct in this respect

pedantic :wink:

the important thing is not to let yourself get too hungry, because then you might binge and fall out of habit. eat stuff like fruit, apples carrots, raisins etc because they dont have a lot of calories in as well as being healthy, you can eat them lots.
also, dont exersise on an empty stomach, (or a full one) because you will run out of energy and find it harder going than usual

I was just about to post the same thing :p:
I lost weight by exercising a couple of hours a week, and Atkins *prepares to be flamed*....but an ordinary healthy diet should work for most people (along with the exercise, of course). Good luck :smile:!
