Get walking. It does wonders, and maybe go out and see some local sights or something so it doesn't feel like your just exercising, you're being cultural too =]

You'll have a heart attack and die before you're 30 if you don't

Also, go for a walk and listen to some music. Sit ups etc. There's loads of stuff. Just wanting to lose weight should be motivation enough and wanting to look better x

This time last year I was very slightly overweight and began cycling again, a form of exercise I enjoyed immensely as a young child. As a result, I am now very healthy and fit. I found that as I progressed and saw that I was losing the weight, it motivated me to continue. I currently try to cycle for at least 30 mins a day, especially after school. I have a set route which takes me in a circle from my house and back again, along a canal and through some countryside, it's really nice. I often listen to music while I ride, despite the safety concerns, and it takes my mind off some of the physical demands of rigorous pedalling. Other than that, walk! I walk to school and back every day and also listen to music, while. I find music helps, passes the time and makhes it more interesting.

Good luck!

:ditto:

I lost half a stone in the first year, just by walking EVERYWHERE. It can be done and you get an intimate knowledge of the surrounding area! It's two birds with one stone already! (well, half of one )

Get a running buddy and run 2-3 times a week at a set time. Get into the habit.

If you want to lose weight then you just have to make the effort to do it and stop being lazy. Sorry but there's zero anyone on an internet forum can do to give you motivation. I used to find it hard to motivate myself to exercise and just decided to make myself do it. It's easiest if you find something energetic that you enjoy doing..like swimming or playing a sport. Either that or incorporate exercise into your daily routine, like walking to and from uni.

stick a pic of a brazilian girl's butt on your fridge to deter snacking. That's what Dita Von Teese does. Walk everywhere. Eat fruit. Dont eat junk. Home cooked and healthy is the way forward.

Uhm, I look at pics of Cheryl Tweedy as my motivation to lose weight, ha.

Why look at pictures of celebrities if you're trying to lose weight? Just look at a picture of yourself.

Im starting uni tomorrow and I am in exactly the same situation! I want to lose 5 kg but find it hard to motivate myself. And I know that I am bound to put on weight at Uni if I dont be careful :frown:

I think having a friend with the same goal as u will help. You can help each other by not eating, comparing what you ate or exchange healthy ideas and exercise together etc.

Go shopping for jeans.

Surprisingly motivating when you're carrying a few extra pounds...
