Which is the best campus socially, out of the three. I would have thought it would be City Campus but everyone on this thread seem to want to go to Fallowfield.
Hey I'm leaning towards Victoria Park as I don't want to live in/near to the city and Victoria Park looked the nicest :P buttt am wondering which accomodation in general has the best social scene?
Apparantly Owen's Park has a good social scene. Fallowfield in general.

Which halls are the newest?

Also, whats the food like in catered halls? What is generally offered?

Although I haven't been to Manchester, I know that New Hall in the City Campus is the newest hall, but its only for post graduates and its self-catered, in case you were looking for catered.

Dont mind about catering but im not a postgrad:frown:

Richmond Park in Fallowfield is quite new. It was built in 2004. It's self-catering.

I live in Woolton Hall and it's. fantastic. The rooms are the largest on this campus (and probably of the whole university) and are recently refurbished. The food here is very nice compared to larger halls like Owens Park. The social side is good, but it's not the livliest hall. I'd say it's definitely what you make of it. We have lots of parties thrown for us, about one a month that are a great laugh. I definitely don't have any complaints about Woolton Hall, it is pretty much perfect in my opinion. You won't regret putting it as your first choice.
what are peoples views on what Richmond Park is like?
on the campus map at the back of my prospectus, i think that i've figured out the building numbers.

i'm sure i'll be studying architecture at building number 39, and grosvenor are numbers 24/27/28, and whitworth are numbers 82/83 right?

grosvenor looks better location-wise, closer to the city centre, closer to the architecture building, not too far from the student union, and just central basically.

whitworth is further from city centre, further from architecture building, closer to students union, therefore not as ideal as grosvenor.

but having read some of these posts i think that whitworth is better? more sociable and fun etc? also does anyone know if it's really that far from the architecture building? i wouldn't mind walking abit extra to my course every morning if it meant staying in a more sociable place.

I'm in Richmond Park at the moment. The rooms are a really good size, so is the kitchen. It is at the back of the Fallowfield Campus, so slightly quieter than OP, as you don't get everyone walking past your windows.

I really like living here, although it it one of the more expensive residences, which I think is the only downside to it.

It's quieter than Owens Park, from what I can gather, but that's what I wanted. We don't get fire alarms going off every night, in fact we've only had 1 since being here!

It's still quite sociable and I have met most of the people in my block.

I'm going to try and fins some photos now, as someone asked!
