Yeah, is there parking at Oak House?
Why would you need a car?

From past experience, unis seem pretty arsey with students bringing cars...
Reply 384
I don't need one, I just sort of have one already and I don't want to leave it at home, or sell it.
When my friend applied last year he asked all of his unis if he could bring his car and they said he could only if he had "special circumstances", like having to visit someone regularly, or having extreme sporting commitments.

However, they might be ok with it.

What do I need to do about accommodation if I'm having a gap year?
OhNO!

Buy a bike, it's cheaper and much more convenient.

And eco-friendly! Unless like one certain Conservative party leader, you get a personal chauffeur to follow you in a car with all your study materials .

especially if what the bus drivers are saying about the future oxford/wilmslow road is true, the having a car to get to uni is pretty pointless - they're saying that it's going to become purely bus and bikes.
If anyone has already applied, could they be kind enough to tell me how much detail was given to the them from the confirmation email, on mine it doesn't even state for when im applying, just says n/a. I know i applied for 08/09, so why aren't they stating this, its making me a bit worried. Anyone know what i can do to make sure?

Location wise (ie proximity to lectures), what would be best for me being a Spanish and Portuguese student? x

Hello, mine says name, date of birth, etc then the bit about a medical condition affecting your requirements, then it says N/A for both arrival & departure date like yours, then my three choices, then the single sex accommodation question, & finally the interests section.

Hopefully that'll ease your mind a bit!

I've applied for Whitworth park and Wright Robinson Hall
Only because Whitworth park is right next to where my lectures would be

If you've applied this early you 100% will get OP. Just hope you get the Tower as that's where it's at!

Finally all sorted out.
Owen's Park - 1st choice.
Put a cheeky request in the interests bit to be put in the OP Tower if possible.
Question: If we are international students, are bed sheets and stuff provided by the accommodation hall, or do we have to buy it on our own when we get there?

You have to buy it, but they usually have bedding packs available for purchase (I hope you like peach! :p: )
K. Thanks!
